Mini player is a problem for me

I have said I would like to see an option to disable or turn it off. I was told they were working on a fix just after it was added. It still has the same issues for me using CarPlay as it did day one.
Sad part is I enjoy the app and it’s used daily. I will not be renewing all because of the mini player starting without app open anytime I start CarPlay. I had other apps it’s long before Hallow was there for anyone. Father Mike and also Bishop Barron are online outside of Hallow. Can’t say the full app with be missed but I refuse to spend on something that has issues for me that can’t be turned OFF

Notice how Tina closed this discussion and we still have issues.

I also let Hallow know how utterly annoying I found the mini-player to be (appearing with a suggestion of what I wanted to listen to next, playing in the car when app was not open, etc).
The last update seemed to have fixed these issues for me.
I discovered that in order to prevent the mini-player from appearing on the screen every time the app is opened, you must hit FINISH at the end of your session. Otherwise, the mini-player will appear (with that session) because the app 'sees it as unfinished' and gives you the opportunity to complete it.
The absolute best thing that came with the update.... the mini-player no longer appears at the bottom of the screen with 'random suggested' sessions. What a relief it is not seeing it there!
This may not be the answer for everyone, but I thought I'd post it just in case.

My app is up to date and I am not a fan of the mini player and it pops up all the time. I still have issues with playing on my car too.

Amen - well said. I am of the same mind.

We recently implemented an update where the mini-player will only show at the bottom of the screen when a user is actively listening to a prayer or they have a queue. It will no longer appear in other instances with the next-up recommendation as it has previously. Here's an article that will help you manage the Hallow audio player.
Let's make sure that your app is up to date. You can do this by visiting the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and making sure it's up to date by searching "Hallow" and seeing if you have the option to "update" the app.
I'll be here if you need a hand with anything else.
God bless.

Tina Villegas: it’s not complete. I’d like a refund. I was billed 3/27. The mini player is not fixed. I want to have an option of turning it completely OFF. It still comes on when I am in my truck and CarPlay is activated. Without the app even open.
I want a refund please for the renewal charge.
Thanks

Tina Villegas: I have the latest update in Google Play and the app mini player still works the same. Even when I exit it, upon restarting the app its there again with something recommended, nothing from any playlist or queue, usually something I never listen to. Also, like some others, it starts playing whatever it has chosen whenever I start my car. I have thought about not renewing. I agree, why pay for an app just to have it annoy you.

Bobby: I agree it is not even different from how it was, let alone fixed.

Robin E.: This is the main reason for my complaints. Just starts to play what ever it has loaded. Most of the time something I’ve not listened to at any point.

I recently renewed my subscription because the MANY features of hallow make it a valuable part of my prayer life in spite of the useless and annoying mini player. Not allowing it to be disabled was a poor decision. I expected better from your organization

I agree. The mini player has been an annoyance since it began. There needs to be way to completely shut it off. Catholic media is available in many other options.

Seems like regarding the mini player, the juice is not worth the squeeze. I recommend removing it. For me it is a nuisance.
